Organic and Natural
We have a very health and environment conscious philosophy at Costislost and, consequently everything we serve and use is as natural as possible.
We also do not use any artificial fragrances at all at Costislost to ensure that not only is it a healthy environment for those who care, but also so allergy sufferers are able enjoy a great stay as well (Of course we cannot guarantee other guests are not using them).
It is important to us that our guests can relax as much as possible, so we have created breakfast as an option, you are free to have that extra long lay-in and then enjoy one of the amazing cafes we have in Cornwall, for that well deserved brunch! Instead of feeling that you must be down in time to eat breakfast here.
Breakfast at Costislost is most definitely worthwhile though, and when taken is a healthy a la carte selection with a variety of dishes, depending on season and availability. And just to confirm, we do serve a full English, which in moderation can of course be healthy, providing the ingredients are good! Wherever possible we use organic ingredients and also, where possible, products that have the shortest distance to us. We personally know our egg farmer and the bacon comes from a local, naturally reared, outdoor Cornish herd whose welfare is a prime concern of the family farm owners. If possible and all goes to plan, our tomatoes and spinach will be grown here at Costislost, but they will certainly be organic anyway. The organic dairy comes from a South West producer and the granola is homemade by Jane. The Meusli and Cereals are also organic as is the bread, which comes from a local artisan bakery.
We also feel it is important to say that unlike many others we are not pretending to adhere to some trendy fad, but something we are very passionate about. We firmly believe that everything we eat should be as close to nature as possible and we try to make sure that we use as much organic as we can and that there are no GM ingredients or additives in our offerings. Similarly we are very concious of the needs of those with particular preferences, be that a need or a desire. To that extent we welcome people who like to eat gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian or vegan, and will try our best to ensure you get a great breakfast. However, please note that as we use a lot of nuts, soya, eggs, fish, milk and seeds in our kitchen we cannot guarantee that there will be no traces in anything we prepare. So if you do have any food allergies please let us know so that we can do our best to accomodate you.
In your room, you will find organic coffee, tea, herbal teas, ground coffee and a cafetiere. The toiletries in your room are by Faith in Nature, made with natural and organic ingredients, and the toilet tissue is made from recycled paper. Towels and linen are 100% cotton, duvets and 2 of the pillows are feather, whilst the other 2 pillows are artificial due to common guest requests. Should you want two feather pillows, please let us know. All our cleaning materials are made by 'Bio-D' with non-fragranced and natural ingredients. Even the washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets we use are natural.
So, apart from being a beautifully tranquil hideaway, Costislost is a natural haven to escape to, recharge, renew and energise your body, mind and spirit. Arrive needing a little care and go home ready to face the world.
Relax, rest, rejuvenate.
Organic, healthy, natural, peaceful!

Yoga, Meditation, FIR Sauna, Complementary Treatments
We have a beautiful Yoga studio and Meditation room which is open to all of our guests.
Generally run through the year 3 times a week, excluding August. Please note that these sessions are run (by Denise Christian) independently of Costislost and do not form any part of the booked stay. Please contact Denise here: https://www.facebook.com/ashtangayogacornwall/
Our Yoga room also doubles as our Meditation room. Feel free to use the room for private meditation whenever you want. Please just check with us so we don't walk in or have yoga running. Jane is nearly always up for a Meditation session if you want the company and support. Just ask her.
Available at certain times due to health and safety reasons, the FIR (far infrared) sauna is a great therapeutic treatment as well as very relaxing.
